TEC ART @ Rotterdam Art Week

At the TEC ART exhibition, during Rotterdam Art Week, you could once again explore the world of Web Spaces! I had my dual-screen interactive installation up and running, where webpages are transformed into 3D ‘buildings’ in real time. As well as 3D prints of worlds most valuable webpage’s, printed in precious metals.

Web Spaces @ Graduation Show Frank Mohr Institute 2017

Soon Web Spaces will be shown at GOGBOT (nominated for Blink Youngblood Award), Ars Electronica in Linz, at the SBK Sprouts Young Talents exhibition in Amsterdam, and after that in a group show in Eindhoven… Very excited about this progress! But in this post I show what my work looked like at the Frank Mohr Institute Graduation Show 2017 (Der Aa-kerk, Groningen, July 9 – July 13).

“Our Harmony”, an interactive music installation @Hotch Potch Festival

The installation Our Harmony is a result of a collaboration between me and two master students from ‘New Audiences and Innovative Practices’ (NAIP) from the conservatory: Kim Bosch and Stefan Kirschbaum. For several months NAIP students and MADtech students had been collaborating to create a one day experimental music festival that we in the end called Hotch Potch. So during this festival on May 13, 2017, many visitors were walking in and out of Our Harmony. By moving their shared position people could trigger sounds and music. Only in collaboration they could really move the music. During performances, the audience was also able to interact with live musicians, and create an atmosphere together.

Interactive Jellyfish @PHOTON ATTACK

Bouke Bommerson, Šarūnė Paulauskaitė and me (Kayleigh Beard) have created an interactive jellyfish during the two-day workshop “PHOTON ATTACK” of artist Niklas Roy.

You can touch its tentacles and the jellyfish will respond with its lights. Or. You will get electrocuted.

Trying out projector @ Museumplein Drachten

I’ve been asked by Museum Dr8888 to make an interactive light installation for the Museumplein in Drachten. It will run every evening, for three months, starting mid October.

Yesterday evening I started to experiment with what’s available: a 4x5m floor projection, a top mounted camera and a computer running AdVis 2.1 software.

WallTalk – Connecting Generations

A high quality relationship between elderly and their (grand)children can be beneficial for all generations involved. However, a communication barrier can exist between the younger and older generations, because generally each generation prefers different communication methods. This can negatively influence the grandparent­(grand)child relationship.
